TM Resourcing's Technical Division are currently recruiting on behalf of their civil engineering client based in Malton York.
Our client are experts in Temporary Works control and design, due to an increased work load and expansion of the UK construction industry, we are looking for a highly motivated individual to undertake the role of Graduate Temporary Works Engineer based at their head office in Malton, North Yorkshire.
You would be joining a small, but rapidly expanding, company and can expect fast personal career growth as the company grows. We will support you with ICE Chartership and expect you to be chartered within 4 years. We work very closely with a nearby permanent works design consultancy and would expose you to permanent works design to further your career progression.
Our clients range from local subcontractors to multi nationals with £1bn+ turnovers. At times you may be based on site, providing support during the construction phase of projects.
You will report to their Engineering Director and be responsible for:
* Designing and checking temporary works schemes to ensure compliance with BS5975 and appropriate British Standards and Eurocodes.
* Ensure schemes provided to our clients are the most suitable to their needs, wherever possible suggesting Value Engineering solutions and altering initial schemes where programme or cost savings can be made.
* Assisting with the general operation of the company and supporting our Temporary Works Co-ordinators on client's site throughout the UK.
The ideal candidate
As a Graduate Temporary Works Engineer you will have shown strength in Structural Analysis and Soil Mechanics at university. You will be pragmatic and show an interest in the construction phase of projects and understand the importance of Temporary Works and its safe design, implementation and control. Ability to think laterally and apply design principles and codes of practice to unique construction situations is essential.
Qualifications and Experience:
A minimum 2nd class degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ICE Accredited University, having graduated within the last 2 years.
OR HNC/HND Civil Engineering and minimum 2 years Temporary Works Design experience with contractor or proprietary equipment provider
