The role requires a Band 5- 6 Registered Nurse, Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse for an independent hospital for up to 18 male residents on the autistic spectrum with associated complex needs, learning disabilities and behaviours which are perceived as challenging to the service.

The role is full-time (40hrs), with a variety of shifts and they offer a competitive pay rate of up to £31,358 for a Senior Staff Nurse. They also include these additional benefits:

As a Senior Staff Nurse you will be a key player in the multidisciplinary team with an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people with brain injury, their families and carers.

You will be responsible for and lead on the following:

  • Medication Management
  • Staff Development
  • Clinical Supervision
  • Appraisal and Performance Management
  • Managing Positive Behaviour and Culture (ABC) within the service Coordinate for individual service users through MDT and CPA processes
  • Contribute to the admissions and discharge planning processes
  • External and internal communications

The hospital service is nr. Nottingham and it provides assessment and intervention for people who have are on the autistic spectrum, those living with learning disabilities, associated complex needs, mental health problems and behaviours that challenge services. People who use the service may be admitted directly from the community or be stepping down from a more restrictive setting. The hospital is an impressive period property, situated on the edge of a picturesque village in its own extensive grounds. The property itself has three communal living areas that allow people to have quiet time or to be in mixed company. Other facilities include a sensory room, garden and an activity room. Everyone has their own bedroom with en-suite facilities and there is extensive outdoor space.
