We have a permanent position for a Commercial Manager for a large, family owned, international manufacturer who are extremely well known in their industry. They manage a range of projects from £50k to £2.5million.

You will need to have a degree or similar qualification with commercial management, construction or quality surveying. You will be working out of a new office in Petersfield but there would be an element of travel to visit clients.

Package:

The salary for this role is around £50000 per annum plus a bonus, company car, free parking, (with easy access to motorway), 25 days' holiday per year (rising with service), excellent training, and a contributory pension scheme. The role:

In your new role you would deputise for the Commercial Director and represent the company at office and site meetings. They would like someone who has experience working with project managers as the role will have a lot of cross-over with the Operations team headed up by the Technical Director.

You will be flexing your people management skills to look after and lead a small team of quantity surveyors, providing specialist support service to strategic business units and managing team who are dedicated, working to minimise contractual risks and maximising commercial gains.

This role is a key member of the commercial management team and as such will fully participate in the creation and maintenance of the business plans for the commercial division.

As part of your role you would be offering advice on terms and conditions, scope of works and specifications, approving all quotations, negotiating and agreeing terms & conditions with customers.

As part of the more regular work you will be preparing and issuing applications for payment, agreeing interim valuations and re-measurement of variation accounts on agreed projects as well as to negotiate and progress resolution of disputes.

You will be managing a team so you will need to work towards creating a work environment that encourages staff to excel and evolve their skills, in order to help you help them, you will need to carry out performance reviews with your team and strengthen good relations with various units of their business as well as central support functions of Finance and Project Management.
