Role: Bid Writer

Salary: c£45k plus car or allowance & benefits

Location: North London

My client is a National Housing Maintenance contractor that are looking to add a Bid Writer to work with an experienced bid team based in North London. You will contribute to the planned and sustained business growth of Housing Maintenance through the production of professionally written proposal content that clearly articulates company value proposition. This role requires a strong ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines.

Main Duties:

• Lead on and co-ordinate input and responses for pre-qualification questionnaires

• Lead storyboard sessions with wider bid team members to develop coherent and tailored responses

• Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts

• Identify and re-work existing pre-written content in line with specific questions and bespoke to individual client requirements

• Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, operations, commercial, legal,customer, HR and finance

• Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Bid Manager against agreed deadlines

• Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on site visits from and interviews with potential clients

• Build and maintain effective client relationships as required

• Develop innovative ways of sharing and presenting information and involve the team in the change process

• Share new bid content with bid team colleagues

• Maintain and improve database of core information and template responses

• Apply client bid feedback to future responses drive continuous improvement

• Understand and apply public procurement legislation and other relevant policies to written responses

Person Specification:

  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate and influence at senior levels
  • Strong time management/prioritisation skills
  • Strong written English language skills
  • Experience of writing R&M or planned maintenance bids
