We are a Southampton based innovations company looking to recruit several R&D engineers in a variety of disciplines thanks to an expansion in our research and development activities in applied Motion-Robotics. With EU and Innovate UK R&D project funding of over £2 million the projects we are addressing include:-
• Humanoid bipedal robots for safe deployment in domestic and hazardous settings
• Wearable Health Sensors for monitoring impact of environment and duties on Soldiers/Emergency Services
• Assistive robots for elderly care combining physical assistance, social robotics and cognitive stimulation.
• Aerial robots (large drones) for deployment in humanitarian aid situations
• Wind Energy using static wind turbines and novel energy conversion

Due to the multidisciplinary nature of these topics we invite people from all engineering and related human science disciplines. In particular we are looking for:- Innovative people who want to take what they have learned and apply it in real applications and solve the problems that arise when theory and reality do not fully match. We work closely with Loughborough and Southampton University and fund Postgraduate studies for full and part time students. This will enable you to work and study at the same time. We believe that your continued learning is extremely important to foster innovative solutions.

Useful skills (in no particular order) include:- MechanicalEngineering, Finite Element, Simulation, Solidworks, AutoCAD. Software coding in any of: C, C++, Python, Java etc., Electronics and Computer Science, Use of microcontrollers (Including experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi etc), Interfacing of sensors or actuators to computers, electronics design, use of ARM microcontrollers, Control theory and its use in practice, computer vision, Apple Apps development, Android Apps development, applied machine learning. Aerodynamic simulation in CFD or similar Finite Element analysis, Aerial robotics, life sciences.
Very close to M27 Junction 5. Salary from 22K to 37K depending on ability qualifications levels, full or part time working. Flexible work hours and possibility to work from home some days. Travel maybe required to China and Switzerland at least once a year.
