£58,000 - £68,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance

Are you a proficient Procurement Manager with experience across a range of Direct spend? Do you have experience managing and leading Procurement Strategy, including managing a team of Buyers?

You will be responsible for ensuring delivery of Procurement objectives across the Directs division, including Major Projects. The scope of this responsibility includes a diverse range of procurement and management activities to include planning and executing contracts and forecasting and managing budgets and associated spend.

You Will:

• Support the development and implementation of a companywide purchasing strategy

• Build and maintain strong working relationships to gain buy- in and engagement with the key stakeholders

• Lead and mentor Project Procurement team members

• Challenge, enhance and standardise existing procurement practices across all business units to ensure conformity of approach, generate economies of scale and deliver better value for money

• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and support in the source of new suppliers as required in partnership with Business Winning Procurement Manager and Supplier Management

• Support in the implementation of ERP ensuring data integrity and continued support to the business

• Manage Project Procurement spend and budget ensuring all project forecasting is accurate and identify/mitigate risks and exploit opportunities

• Realise and deliver cost savings, together with a range of additional benefits including improved supplier performance, improved quality of service and total cost of performance along with risk management

• Manage/resolve SLA breaches of contract to provide a positive outcome to the business

Person Specification:

• Professionally recognised purchasing qualification (MCIPS)

• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to lead key negotiations at a senior level

• Experience of delivering cost efficiencies with third party suppliers

• Extensive experience managing complex supplier and organisational relationships

• Ability to build informal authority and influence key decision makers

• Confidence to manage budgets and undertake financial forecasting

• Excellent communication, presentational and interpersonal skills

• Self motivated and proactive, enjoy working under pressure

• Comfortable with complexity and ambiguity and an appetite to address the toughest commercial challenges
