Person Specification for Graduate SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant
We are hoping for an inspiring graduate who has achieved a 2:1 or above in your degree and previous experience working with learners who present with social, emotional and behavioural issues either in a volunteer or paid role. The successful candidate will have a natural ease with strangers and the ability to rapidly form relationships and a desire to work closely within special educational needs. You must have the skills to display a caring attitude towards your students and encourage and motivate students.

About the Graduate SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant Role
As a Graduate SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant your role will involve you working throughout the school. You will get the chance to strengthen your bond with the students as you take part in the school's extracurricular activities, ranging from sports teams to arts and crafts. By playing the part of a mentor for students you will be helping students develop key social skills and managing their behaviours. This Graduate SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant position involves able to approach a friendly and considerate leadership team.

The School - Graduate SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant
Learners at this school are aged between 5-11 years old and are unable to manage in a mainstream educational setting due to their social, emotional and mental health difficulties. All staff at this SEMH provision have a genuine desire to understand the needs of the children and the behaviours they present with, as well as how to manage, support and influence change in relation to these behaviours.
