Residential Care Worker - Residential Childcare - Staffordshire

£19,720 - £22,443 PER ANNUM (SALARY INCLUDES PAYMENT FOR SLEEP INS/ON CALL) Plus excellent company benefits!

Could you make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable children / young people?

This pioneering organisation has Gold Investors in People award and offers company pension, life assurance, cash health plan and excellent professional development/training and the opportunity to undertake QCF Level 3 Diploma Children and Young People’s Workforce qualification.

The company seeks a new residential staff member for our Ofsted registered children’s home offering 52-week care and education to girls 12-19 years with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD).

This Ofsted registered residential and vocational college for vulnerable girls is set in an eleven acre site in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside, near Alrewas and Rugeley. On-site there are after school clubs and activities which range from horse riding, cooking and horticulture to dressmaking and sport and fitness. There are many leisure centres, dance classes, martial art classes and other community based activities locally which the girls are supported and encouraged to partake in to develop their social skills and self-esteem.

Ideally you will have previous experience of working with teenage girls either through a previous work role, voluntary role or have developed parenting skills through bringing up your own or others children. Most of all you will have a genuine interest in working with young people, willing to engage with them and be involved in a range of activities and interests that the girls enjoy. We are committed to enabling our girls to achieve and to do this they need the support of the care team, encouraging and helping them, building confidence and self-esteem. If you would like to be part of the girls’ success and can use your skills and enthusiasm to set boundaries, challenge unacceptable behaviour, develop the young person’s social and independent skills, be a role model and provide a nurturing environment in which our girls can feel safe and supported, we would like to hear from you.

You will be working The Alternate Week Shift pattern. This pattern includes sleep ins/on call, followed by a week off shift.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references will be sought prior to employment commencing.
