This charity has an exciting opportunity within their Services Team to work as a Health Care Engagement and Community Development Lead.

Job Title: Health Care Engagement and Community Development Lead

Location: Pill (outskirts of Bristol) + outreach venues
Hours: 37 hours per week, however, a job share can be considered
Salary: £26,000 - £27,000 per annum
Contract: Full time, permanent
Benefits: 25 days holiday per year (pro-rata) + bank holidays + extra days over Christmas and New Year period. Free parking in a beautiful semi-rural setting.

They have 35 years of experience and are pioneers in the field of holistic cancer care, providing a unique combination of physical, emotional and spiritual support designed to help anyone affected by cancer as well as their close supporters. They work in partnership with many major healthcare providers, using evidence based research to underpin their service offering

The post holder will play a key part in enabling the Charity to support more clients with a cancer diagnosis. The role will include the development of long term relationships with health and social care teams in order to raise awareness for this charity and their services and support offered in order to maximise client engagement. This will include weekly attendance in hospitals (for example chemotherapy day unit) and to oversee the recruitment and retention of volunteers to further develop and support this activity.

The post holder will have excellent communication and relationship skills in order to liaise with other service providers, community groups, authorities and businesses along with strong presentation skills to enable the delivery of talks, clinics and group work.

The role also includes community engagement work and the development and delivery of community groups at both the National Centre and in outreach to the wider community.

Candidates should have experience of working with clients with cancer or other long term health conditions as well as experience of developing community groups or projects.
