Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting a Financial Regulatory Reporting Assistant to work within a reputable organisation within Leek. This position is on a permanent and the main function of the role is to support the key delivery of Regulatory Reporting within the Finance function, including development and maintenance of the underlying systems and models and to support the Finance Administrator team as required.

The role

Preparation of Regulatory Returns:

  • To prepare Finance owned regulatory returns, including PRA and Bank of England returns, ensuring accurate, timely and consistent reporting across returns
  • To ensure that the control framework around regulatory reporting is working effectively

Finance Models:

  • To maintain, improve and develop robust spreadsheets supporting calculation of regulatory returns

System:

  • To understand and maintain the regulatory reporting functionality of the reporting system, including the balance sheet structure
  • To develop the functionality of the reporting system to improve the efficiency of regulatory reporting and other functions supported by the system where appropriate

Year End/Annual Reporting:

  • To support the preparation and production of statutory accounts, in particular with regard to information relevant to regulatory reporting

Support Finance Team:

  • Reconciliation of mortgage and savings balances
  • Bank account reconciliations
  • Daily cash management
  • Release of mortgage advances and customer savings withdrawals by bank transfer
  • Handle queries from branch staff, agencies, customers and the bank
  • Preparation and posting of journals to general ledger
  • Provide cover for the Finance Clerk team during holidays and sickness

The successful candidate

  • Good understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping, preferably studying for AAT, CIMA or ACCA qualification (study support would be provided)
  • Knowledge of Prudential Regulatory Rulebook, Data Protection Act, Disability Discrimination Act/Equal Opportunities Policy, Health & Safety, Anti-Money Laundering and Complaints Procedure
  • Strong IT skills with advanced knowledge of Excel - manage accurate reporting through the ALMIS system is essential
  • Previous experience working within a Finance function
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
