The Role

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the Manager provides internal audit, advisory, and risk assurance services for the group. As a key member of the Internal Audit team you will act as a number 2 to the head of and be expected to support and deputise as and when required. This role is a business partnering role, supporting both finance and non-finance colleagues. You will be managing a team of competent business auditors, you will be expected to lead by example, develop strong relationships and deliver a strong business partnering culture.

Duties will include:

  • Performing and leading on audit reviews.
  • Ensure the audit plan is delivered.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with directors and senior managers.
  • Provide the internal audit with an insight and understanding.
  • Managing third party assurance providers.
  • Perform investigations and ad-hoc projects and provide advice to the business directors.

The Person

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with significant exposure to either manufacturing, utilities or construction. Risk based commercial and operational audit is essential, be that in industry or from within a top 10 practice. A key part of this role is the business partnering element therefore you must be an excellent communicator and be able to liaise at board level through to the wider financial and non-financial teams. As you are managing a team you will need to ideally have had prior management experience.
