The Company: I am currently working on behalf of a niche, Chartered wealth management firm who are looking to add a qualified Paraplanner into the technical research team. To be based from their Leeds head-office you will come into a team of 2 to support 3 high performing advisers (All private/investment/asset managers) in a technically challenging, research/report writing led role. With a team of 8 in that head office they are keen to expand across 2017, notably into the corporate pension arena but also their FUM within private wealth. The company has actually been short listed three times for the prestigious New Model Adviser 'Adviser of the Year' award and prides itself in being one of the first companies to move fully to fee based advice.
The Role: You will be responsible for thorough analysis of client holdings, cash flow model building, report writing, sourcing quotations, comparison and selection, meeting preparation, product and technical research and administration of more complex financial products. Being holistic financial planners, knowledge of the full spectrum of protection, investment, estate planning and tax efficient products and solutions is very much required as the successful candidate will form an important role in ensuring client commitments are met. This isn’t just a product focused report writing role the client-facing nature of the function is very prominent here so a commercially focused, technical mind-set is required. Career advancement medium/longer term would be on the technical reporting side, or indeed the advisory side should that be a goal so personal progression will be pushed and supported.
The Person: The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to personal development, and have a minimum qualification level of the CII's Diploma in financial planning, or at least working towards that. He or she must be I.T. literate, have a working knowledge of 1st software and a good knowledge of Microsoft office suite. Experience of Prestwood cash-flow modelling software is advantageous but training can be given.
