The Company
The company are a centre of excellence that is at the forefront of creating a viable and sustainable cell and gene therapy industry.  Their headquarters are in central London where they have built a leading multidisciplinary team that has the ability to take a therapy from concept through the development cycle to the market.  They collaborate with both academia and industry and they are able to provide the scientific, clinical and commercial expertise needed to overcome the challenges that hinder the commercialization of these fast developing, cutting edge technologies.  Their longer term aim is to make the UK a global leader in the development and commercial exploitation of therapies.  They are making great strides towards this aim with therapies entering phase 2 clinical trials and building credible cases to be progressed to stage 3.  Added to this they are expanding their
manufacturing and development operations to meet increased demand for their services from the academic and commercial sectors.

The Role

The role of Operations Lead is an influential role which is key to the successful opening of the new facility so that the current pipeline of projects are on boarded correctly and then managed throughout their lifecycle till closeout.  The role is in fact multi-functional including support to the business development team to host tours or meetings to help win new business.  As well as involvement in the pre-contract and quality screen process for any new projects coming into the centre.  Taking the lead on any amendments to contracts such as the writing of specifications, costings and schedules working with the Head of Collaborations during this process.  Once on boarded you will be the point of contact for collaborators as well as internal departments to ensure the relationships are mutually beneficial and progressing through the project milestones successfully.  Going forward this
team is going to continue to expand in which you will have direct involvement in developing the strategies to ensure this is successful.

Whilst this is a Fixed Term Contract there is the likelihood this could become permanent but due to the level of expansion there is the possibility of other opportunities arising.

You need to have experience of project management in the pharmaceutical / biologics / biopharmaceutical / biotech sectors with additional experience of business development.  In addition a scientific back ground is essential, if this is within cell and gene therapies or related sector then this is advantageous to your application.  GMP knowledge is also needed for this role because of the link to the new manufacturing facility.
