A fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join a growing team in a Plant Hire company in Leicestershire

The successful Buyer will join a team of 4 in a very busy environment and be responsible for purchasing good for stock, resale and repair.

The Job


  • Produce Purchase Order Numbers
  • Oversee stock control department as and when required
  • Liaise with sales department about new lines and products
  • Communicate with suppliers daily to get special prices, promotional goods and rebates
  • Answer telephone calls an take orders/enquiries
  • Liaise with Transport Manager to collect and deliver special orders
  • Oversee goods to be returned and monitor for credits
  • Agree new stock with the department and instruct the warehouse supervisor
  • Liaise with internal sales for purchasing of special items
  • Relate with management when new products need to become stock lines
  • Communicate with accounts about normal costs, credits, new and existing suppliers
  • Ensure that the groups health, safety & environmental policies are adhered to

The Person

The ideal person will have:

  • Previous experience in a Plant Hire company would be essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Stakeholder engagement experience essential
  • Confident negotiator
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills

In return the company is offering:

  • £20,000 - £23,000 per annum, dependant on experience
