A unique opportunity to lead and develop a new and innovative service to provide the best outcomes for children waiting to be adopted.

Salary: up to £66,303, Location: Warrington (flexible working)

The Role

As part of the government's regionalising adoption program Wigan, Cheshire West & Chester, Warrington, St Helens and Halton are forming a Regional Adoption Agency - "Adopt Together".

An inspirational leader is now sought to establish the agency and develop a new and innovative service that will provide the best outcomes for children waiting to be adopted and potential adoptive families.

The role will build on the good work that has been carried out to date, and will have responsibility for developing the business plan and bringing together a wide variety of partners and stakeholders.

We are seeking an inspirational leader, who will bring the drive and energy to make the new agency, Adopt Together, a success and to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children and their families.

Wigan Council, the host authority for this agency, has an outstanding reputation as one of the best public service providers in the country. We are seeking someone who wants to work with other local authority providers, the Department for Education and Voluntary Adoption Agencies to help build on this success.

You will join the RAA at an exciting time for local government and have the opportunity to connect closely to both Liverpool and Manchester at the heart of the country's most progressive region and play a significant role in contributing to the implementation of Greater Manchester Devolution.

You will be a qualified social worker with experience in adoption and a reputation for strong management; you are seeking an opportunity where you will be given the autonomy to make a difference, show what you are capable of, develop you leadership skills, and establish your profile on the national stage in this field.
