The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 51,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population. RCGP Northern Ireland requires an experienced Initiatives and Events Coordinator to join its dynamic team.
The role involves liaising with general practitioners and other stakeholders to devise and deliver both educational and non educational events throughout the year as well as coordinating and supporting the work of the College`s committees and working groups.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Competence is essential in the use of IT packages including Microsoft Office, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel..
Experience of setting up and running projects, identifying and securing sponsorship opportunities and managing/marketing events is also required as is a clean driving license and access to the use of a car.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and be able to work with minimal supervision showing initiative and adaptability.
