Job Title: Marketing Coordinator (Commercial) 10 month FTC
Responsible To: Marketing and Communications Manager 
Location: Central London 
Summary Of Post
The Marketing Coordinator (commercial) is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and communications plans for all our commercial areas (sub-brands) to increase awareness, footfall and revenue. To include but not limited to:

- Waterfront Bar & Kitchen
- Guys Bar
- Shop (and online shop)
- Unlocking London 

Main Tasks 
1. Development and delivery of high quality commercial marketing plans

- Work collaboratively with colleagues to understand the objectives of each commercial area and develop high quality, engaging and creative marketing plans to increase awareness, footfall and revenue
- Research and produce competitor analysis to understand what students want, need and expect from our commercial services
- Implement the marketing plans to agreed budgets and deadlines
- Produce regular reports and analysis tracking the success of campaigns and tactics and producing recommendations for improvements

2. Innovation and creativity

- Research new innovations and marketing best practice ensuring our communications remain relevant and engaging for our membership
- Work with the design team to produce creative and engaging online and offline content
- Enhance our online user experience for example our online shop, activity group membership and ticketing
- Increase the diversity of marketing tools used in our campaigns including film, photos, social media engagement and experiential marketing
- Make recommendations, based on data and evidence, for improvements to services, new products and promotions.

3. Relationship Management

- Monitor the marketing inbox and responding to enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Produce and provide content for regular newsletters and other communications channels
- Develop good working relationships with the of our marketing team
- Develop good working relationships with external partners and suppliers 

Person Specification

- Professional Marketing qualification
- Educated to degree level.


- Experience of working in a busy marketing and communications team
- Experience of a range of marketing disciplines including; advertising, direct marketing, digital, customer service, events, membership marketing and experiential marketing
- Experience of developing and delivering marketing and communications plans I a commercial context
- Experience of writing copy for a variety of online and offline channels and to a range of audiences
- Experience of using databases to segment and target customers/members
- Experience of working within brand guidelines
- Experience of involvement with a membership organisation is desirable.


- Awareness of current issues in higher education
- Awareness of the role of marketing commercial services within a students’ Union
- Awareness of current social media trends within HE and membership organisations


- Ability to work as part of a team, working cross-organisationally with a range of people
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Independent and proactive, being able to work without close supervision
- Able to build appropriate relationships with relevant partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage work time effectively and prioritise projects appropriately
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
