We are currently recruiting for a Mortgage and Protection Relationship Manager to join our Mortgage Network Team in Newcastle Upon Tyne, on a six month FTC. As a Senior member of the Mortgage Network leadership team, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the Telephone Based Relationship Team. You will take overall responsibility and ownership for the relationship management oversight of accounts to identify and coordinating opportunities through face to face and proactive desk based support.


The Mortgage and Protection Relationship Manager will be a major contributor to Relationship strategy with the emphasis on campaigns and productivity whilst ensuring that good customer outcomes are central to propositional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Mortgage and Protection Relationship Manager will have a geographical area and be aligned to a number of Principles, Partners and advisers, you will be the relationship contact for them. You will assist them on a reactive and proactive basis and will carry the associated targets which you will meet through sales management, influence and individual objectives
  • Maximise income through the sales and promotion of the mortgage and protection proposition to Advisers within the Intrinsic Group of companies through accurate mortgage placing and providing clarity on Lenders Mortgage criteria, products and packaging requirements. You will also liaise with providers to resolve any issues that may arise for the adviser
  • You will pro-actively manage and improve individual quality metrics with Advisers to ensure we deliver the highest quality of Mortgage Lending to our lending partners within Financial Services
  • You will assist your relationships with Advice process and sales process queries
  • Meet corporate objectives and targets to increase protection to mortgage sales
  • Meet corporate objectives and targets to ensure customers have access to full financial planning to suit their needs
  • You will support the Advisers, Principles and Partners not receiving face to face support through proactive and reactive contact and on corporate initiatives, to drive ongoing profitability for them and the Company
  • Pro-active outbound sales calls regarding products, exclusive rates, incentives and campaigns

Key Behavioural Skills:

  • Excellent telephone manner with the ability to quickly build and maintain key relationships with principals, advisers, lender contacts and key stakeholders
  • Confident approach, self-motivated with good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)and able to communicate sales, incentives and event messages
  • Excellent sales and influence skills
  • Credibility, professionalism and strong personal integrity

Qualifications required:

  • Educated to UK graduate level or equivalent experience
  • Minimum qualification CeMap qualified preferably advanced CeMap

Experience required:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in the Intermediary Mortgage Sector - ideally someone who has previously advised on Mortgages/Protection
  • Extensive knowledge of the lending market in terms of Intermediary lending/lenders criteria and products
  • Knowledge of the protection market in terms of intermediary products and criteria
  • Experience of working in IFA, Multi Tie and Restricted environments advantageous although lender experience considered
  • A proven history of telesales or non-face to face sales preferable but not essential
  • Some experience of Account/relationship management desirable demonstrating sales and influence
