This is a really nice role for an experienced Practice Accountant looking to work on behalf of a number of clients with a consultative approach. You might be newly qualified and looking to make a significant step up, or an experienced accountant who wants to bring fresh ideas to a forward-thinking team.

The firm
Your employer will be an Accounting Practice based in Hereford. They’re big enough to offer you the opportunities and scope to keep things interesting, but small enough to maintain a family feel and support each and every member of staff. They've got a sense of humour and personality is important - stuffy accountants they ain't! The accounts team itself is small, they all get on well, and staff turnover is low.

A more in-depth description of your role:
You'll be responsible for managing an interesting client portfolio with a variety of responsibilities to meet their accounting needs.
Building professional working relationships with both clients and colleagues will be an integral part of your role. You will need to be a strong communicator to deal with both financial and non-financial colleagues.

• Preparation and review of statutory accounts (predominantly for limited companies)
• Preparation of corporate tax returns
• Review of clients’ VAT returns
• Assisting clients with bookkeeping
• Some supervision of more junior members of staff
• Possibility of some audit work as a minor part of the role

The perks
The company offers parking on-site, modern open plan offices, an excellent working environment, pension scheme, 25 days' holiday and flexible working hours. The starting salary is £28-35k depending on your experience, with regular reviews.

About you
You will need to be an experienced accountant and ACA or ACCA qualified or newly qualified with at least 3 years' experience working in Practice. It's important that you are confident dealing with clients, good at explaining things and training colleagues, and able to be personable and professional. You’ll work autonomously and as part of a close team, so you’ll need to be able to communicate well with people of all levels, be self-motivated and proactive.
