Due to expansion, a new opportunity has arisen for a qualified Accountant to work for a small family owned business based on the outskirts of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

This is an extremely varied role where you will be responsible for all day to day accounts activity as well as providing timely and accurate management information. Duties include:

  • Sales Ledger - overseeing a junior member of staff, taking responsibility for CID facility and CID banking relationship
  • Cost of Sales - accruals, stock management and valuation
  • Gross Profit - providing analysis on volume and price variances in support of margin performance
  • Payroll - end to end payroll, including time and attendance systems and pension
  • Leading the Audit and occasional HMRC reviews
  • Budgetting and Forecasting
  • Monitoring KPI's across the business to assist in business improvements
  • Office Management duties, including maintaining employee records, office equipment, taking the lead on upgrading office equipment
  • Overheads cost control including utilities, raw materials, packaging, business rates
  • Other Adhoc duties

Applicants must have the following skills and experience:

  • Must be formally qualified, ACCA/CIMA
  • Ambitious and career minded individual
  • IT literate, especially with Sage and Sage Payroll and Excel
  • Flexible 'can do' attitude
  • Able to manage their own time effectively
  • Proven track record within a small company environment
