Our client a leading social housing provider are currently looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor in their Nottingham office.

You will responsible for carrying out quantity surveying functions within the in house contracting business servicing the Housing Estate.

The works programmes include reactive and maintenance, planned reinvestment works and cyclical maintenance.

To provide commercial insight and strategy to ensure business effectiveness and financial efficiency is achieved.

To develop new ways of delivering the commercial approach to future contract performance and spend to support the contract partnership.

Measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors

Pricing of client enquiries including drawing on specialist/supply chain support to drive best value

Preparation of monthly cost and value reports for the area together with reviews of results and trends with operational teams

Ensure trade working capital is maximised including payments are received on time from the client and management of 3rd party costs

Working in collaboration with supply chain for compliant procurement of materials and subcontract support.

Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the Commercial Manager and Senior Management team.

Help ensure that business targets and KPIs are exceeded

Provide technical & commercial advice to maximize value from all term contracts and technical standards

Experience in working in a quantity surveying role in a commercial environment

A demonstrable track record of delivering service excellence to a customer base. A record of achievement in making a difference

Good planning, budgeting, organising and prioritisation skills. Experience of keeping sound business records

Strong report writing skills. A good standard of written business English
Able to interpret financial and other systems data.

Experience managing staff in a repairs related environment

Previous experience of S.O.R Contracts

Previous experience of partnering type contracts within social housing sector
