Our outstanding client is currently seeking a highly motivated Account Manager to join their dynamic management team based in Leatherhead. Your role will include:

  • Growing the business, through focusing on client retention, and identifying and successfully acquiring new business opportunities
  • Being responsible for achieving realistic new business sales targets and will be measured, ranked and closely monitored through agreed KPI’s

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking a combination of marketing activities, prospect identification, telesales and targeting
  • Planning initial prospect contact, identifying and negotiating contract closure
  • Visiting and speaking with clients. Undertake sales visits to new and existing clients which may require frequent travel in UK
  • Assisting them in reviews of their contracts and providing information and advice
  • Managing discussions with them about their future strategy
  • Explaining price rises and new services
  • Ensuring that sales discussions are closed appropriately this requires an understanding of the contracting process and our Terms & Conditions
  • Working closely with the Sales Director and Commercial Director to manage the contract process
  • Providing accurate reports and documentation to the Management Team to enable informed decision-making and financial control
  • Meeting KPI’s and agreed sales targets
  • Quickly grasp and understand the sales procedure including all aspects of the niche market we operate in and to absorb a full understanding of our services and how they are delivered
  • Canvass leads, perform telesales calls, and forge relationships and inroads with key decision makers to be able to create new business opportunities
  • Set up and arrange appointments with existing and new clients. Manage your own diary bearing in mind our clients are nationally based
  • Prepare customer proposals/ quotes using a bespoke CRM system and answer any client queries as appropriate

Personal Specification

  • Educated to degree level or above in a business or marketing related (ideal)
  • Must have relevant work experience within a similar sales / business development role, along with a thorough understanding of the principles of sales and relationship building
  • The personal ability to sell the contracts in a seasonal business and a challenging budget restricted environment is essential
  • In-depth experience of working with a varied and demanding client base and be well able to deal confidently with staff at all levels is essential
  • Must have relevant experience and a good understanding of the property/ facilities management environment or NHS/ public sector markets and be able to determine accurately potential sales/ business development opportunities
  • Must have exemplary client relationship management skills, possess proven relationship building skills and be responsive to customers' requests
  • Must have B2B sales experience
  • Good IT skills, confident user of CRM systems with strong knowledge of MS Office (Advanced Excel), experience of formulating email campaigns and able to use web based systems
  • Self-starter, professional, first class interpersonal skills with high energy and enthusiasm
  • An excellent communicator, good team player, who possesses strong client relationship building skills
  • Must be articulate, have clarity in all written materials and the ability to present sales propositions effectively and persuasively is vital
  • Must possess exceptional accuracy skills, be detail focused with strong project planning, organisational and business writing skills
  • Flexible with work time. Able to perform out of hours duties, travel as necessary and perform weekend work if required
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast moving environment, dealing with staff at all levels in the organisation through to senior company executives
  • Must possess a clean, valid driver’s licence
