My client based in SE London is a dynamic, fast growing utility services company that provides services to distributed energy schemes in the UK, particularly district heating schemes. The Maintenance arm of the business is branded as Heatworks and forms part of the Delivery department.

You will be responsible for all of Heatworks day-to-day management as well as implementing an ambitious growth plan over the coming years. The services provided include installation and commissioning of metering & billing equipment, site management and planned and reactive maintenance.

Within the company, the Delivery Team is responsible for taking new schemes from engagement through to operation; including supply and commissioning of equipment and set-up of schemes within the company systems.

You will also have overall management responsibility for the Delivery Team and Heatworks maintenance provision, and be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of new schemes, to time and budget, and for the smooth transfer of these schemes to Client Services.

1. Overall project management responsibility for all Delivery projects
Responsible for management of the overall programme, including scheduling of site activities and required resources

Ensure each project is delivered to all time-cost parameters and that progress is reported to internal and external stakeholders;

Responsible for stock management and procurement, and for liaising with key suppliers and sub-contractors as required.

Responsible for ensuring that maintenance contracts are fulfilled, and that planned and reactive maintenance reports are sent through in a timely manner

2. Ensure effective management of the team
Resource planning and co-ordination of office staff, installation and maintenance teams, as well as sub-contractors. Manage and motivate the team, with five direct reports and an initial team of nine staff Prioritise activities, with regular management meetings with team

Coach, promote and develop a culture of excellence within the team.

Manage annual / on-going Personal Development and Training process for Delivery

Recruit additional resources into Delivery as and when required (as per Business Plan)

3. Ensure appropriate processes are in place to facilitate delivery
Create and manage business processes for Delivery Team actions and ensure these are documented and communicated within the business;

Ensure controls are in place to reduce risk and that there are reporting mechanisms that enable progress to be monitored;

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to improve efficiency, reduce risk and/or improve client service;

Source new suppliers of equipment and services, assisting with supplier agreements and product design and integration as required.

Education & Training
5 GCSEs, Grade A-C (or equivalent), including English Language & Maths.
Educated to degree level.
Health & Safety qualified

Experience, Skills & Knowledge Ability to work independently and in a team
Excellent Communication Skills (verbally and written)
Excellent computer skills – familiarity with IT packages, especially Microsoft Office and the internet.
Ability to liaise effectively and appropriately at all levels.

Excellent planning and organisational skills

Duration Permanent with a 3 month probation period

Salary £50,000 - £55,000 per annum depending upon skills and experience

Hours 40 hours a week

Annual Leave 25 days plus the 8 days Bank Holidays
