Key Account Manager

Newcastle / North East

£37,000 to £42,000 plus company car

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Manager, who will be home based and supported by the team at Head Office in the Midlands. The successful individual will be looking after business worth between £2M to £5M annually, across a section of large Key Accounts and smaller clients.

The post holder is responsible for:-

  • Provide quotes for customers to achieve agreed financial targets
  • Provide regular reports as required by the management team.
  • Produce a business plan for existing and new customer portfolio in line with budget
  • Manage tender process involving all relevant areas of the business to ensure tender is financially viable and commercial risk is minimised
  • Liaise with purchasing to develop joint approaches to major prospect customers
  • Grow the value of existing customers by constantly seeking opportunities to extend volume, range and own brand offering
  • Understand the companies USP and tailor it to add value to customer offering
  • Prospect new customers and regain lost business
  • Maintain existing business through effective customer contact including regular visits
  • Maintain price files and advise customers of increases and manage expectations to ensure business is retained.
  • Work with Internal Key Accounts Dept to deliver highest levels of customer contact and service at all times

The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Strong personal, motivation to succeed
  • Competent presentational skills
  • IT - basic standard excel, outlook, power point, word and company systems
  • Strong numerical and verbal reasoning skills
  • Clean Driving Licence
