This is a client-facing mechanical engineering role, working directly with the industrial market (primarily food and beverage, anaerobic digestion and wastewater treatment).

A unique engineering role has become available at one of the UK’s leading engineering companies. The business, a market leader in their field, is looking for a highly driven mechanical engineer who has the outgoing personality to engage and discuss projects directly with potential clients in the industrial market.

Above all, a strong understanding of mechanical engineering considerations with regard to the industrial market is required. In addition to this, a charismatic and consultative personality will really help to build rapport and lasting relationships with the clients.

The role will support, and be supported by, a team of traditional salespeople.

Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications:

- An engineering qualification (HNC or above)

- Mechanical engineering experience in an industrial process industry (food and beverage, anaerobic digestion and/or wastewater treatment would be most relevant - no manufacturing please)

- An engaging personality

Desirable Skills / Experience / Qualifications

- Experience in working in a commercial and/or a client-facing capacity

- Experience in preparing tenders and using software packages

Since this is a client engagement role, one to two days a week will be spent in the company offices (near Bristol), and three to four days a week will be spent at home or in the field visiting clients. In this way, travel during the working week is expected (fully recompensed and with a company car provided), and so the person within this role can live almost anywhere in the UK. However, living within easy reach of the M4 corridor will be considered highly advantageous.

If you would like to apply for the role, please send your CV to Giles Green of ECTAR.
