Jewellery and Watch Buyer/Product Manager - Mail Order Catalogue Group
Unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Jewellery/Watch/Accessories Buyer within this international Mail Order/Catalogue company based in Borehamwood, Herts.
This role would perhaps suit an assistant buyer looking for a step up to a role which would give autonomy and more responsibility.
Working with the support of a small buying team, you will be involved in all aspects of the buying process including forecasting new trends, developing new product lines and sourcing new suppliers in the Far East and USA as well as working with existing manufacturers/suppliers. You will also be responsible for ongoing ordering, analysing past sales figures to anticipate future buying needs, negotiating prices, organising and authorising payments and general critical path management as well as supervision of two competent buying assistants within the London office.
In addition, you will be the central point of contact for the U.S. office, overseeing quality issues, inventory counts, instructions on repairs, damaged stock and all general warehouse queries. Logistics knowledge is advantageous to ensure timely arrival of stock from supplier to warehouse, organising shipments and dealing with associated queries and associated administration.
You will also be working on monthly catalogue production, selecting suitable product lines, working to deadlines and overseeing an in house photographer to co-ordinate photography and layout as well as pagination, copy writing and figure analysis.
Some travel involved to various trade shows mainly in the Far East and USA.
