Quality Manager


My client, a leading Engineering firm in Wiltshire are currently looking for an experienced Quality Manager, working closely with Senior Manager to define, implement and maintain Quality Systems across the business.

The Role:

As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for maintain and continually improve the Quality Assurance System, including documentation, audits, non-conformances, and working to customer requirements. You will support the organisation across all quality related matters, leading 'Lean 6 Sigma' projects onsite, as well as responsibility for implementing quality policies, test and protocol procedures.

Role Requirements:

- To instigate and lead supplier audits
- To ensure legal compliance with regulations and product standards
- To be responsible for the overall checking of components and raw materials purchased and finished products
- Manage FATs with customer representatives
- To develop and administer inspection and testing procedures for products
- To ensure faults are investigated via 8D process, corrective actions are assigned and implemented to maintain conformity with quality specifications and standards
- To be responsible for staff recruitment, development and training

Knowledge and Experience:

- Graduate level education in Engineering, or qualified by experience equivalent
- Can demonstrate a 'hands-on' approach to Quality. Experienced in driving quality through fill product lifecycle process
- Fully conversant with the requirements of ISO9001, working knowledge of ISO14001
- Practical understanding of LEAN techniques and experience in such introduction
- At least 5 years experience in a quality related role, ideally with quality qualifications or organisations, with knowledge of quality standards, auditing and quality tools
