Salary: Upto £21,000p.a

The Role

Working within the Technical Operations Team, reporting to the Head of Networks you will be supporting and expanding the company's network and will be responsible for designing upgrades and improvements for the company and customer networks, as well as diagnosing issues and providing support to other internal teams.

  • Perform 2nd/3rd line support for all networking issues.
  • Planning and implementing IT networking projects, owning complex technical issues through to resolution.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software problems for routers, switches and firewalls
  • Technical support for people using the network
  • Aid installing new hardware (servers, printers, computer workstations, etc.)
  • Overseeing security of all systems, especially the internet, and installing antivirus protection
  • Day to day admin and monitoring of network use
  • Interacting with customers, suppliers, contractors, team members, senior management and directors and therefore excellent communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines.

Key Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 2 of the four or Cisco CCNET/CCNA qualifications.
  • CISCO L2/L3 switches (layer 2 - access switches. Layer 3 - routing switches) , with wireless LAN controller and Cisco ASA Routing (BGP, iBGP, OSPF, IS-IS) on Cisco, Juniper or Brocade hardware
  • In depth knowledge of the four network types (LAN, WAN, MAN and GAN)
  • Firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Linux/*BSD)
  • VPNs SSL/IPSec (Cisco, Juniper, Linux)
  • Great with customers -can discuss and advise on network solutions.
