Junior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Bridgend, South Wales
Salary: Competitive, DOE
Contract: Permanent, Full time

Our client is a market leading force in the international gaming industry, are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer.

The Role:

• Use of Creo/Solid Works
• Design and development of cabinets, metal and plastic components according to requirements.
• Focus on the introduction of new product design and development to meet customer needs.
• Ensure the timely completion of design projects.
• Assist in the generation of innovative solutions that allow lowest financial investment and product costs while still meeting customer’s needs.
• Assisting the design team in concept and working with the relevant departments to ensure any problems are resolved as quickly and effectively as possible.

The Person:

The Junior Mechanical Design Engineer will be joining the team responsible for delivering new mechanical designs from sketched concepts through to production. The successful candidate will use pro-engineer as an engineering tool to perform initial design layout, 3D modeling and detailed component assemblies for supplier manufacture.

We are seeking a flexible person with the ability to adapt to the constantly changing requirements of the business and meet the time scales and objectives as defined in project plans, while continuing to provide support for existing product.

The role will involve working closely with Development, Manufacturing and Purchasing departments to achieve producible, quality designs to provide the customer with the best possible product.

The experience listed below is advantageous:

• Recent graduate in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
• Experience/interest of working in an engineering design team
• User Creo/Solid Works with solid modeling, sheet metal, surfacing, assembly and drafting preferably
• Knowledge of Autocad Lt
• The ability to work under pressure
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
