Role: Systems Engineer
Location: Farnham
Salary: up to £50,000
My client is looking for a systems engineer to work within the hybrid / electric vehicle market. The right candidate will have a good understanding of embedded systems (electronics of software).

The primary responsibility of this role is the system design of the company's electric motor products. This includes systems analysis and modelling, the development of requirements, traceability analysis and the creation of test specifications.

The demand for clean technology is growing and this company is firmly involved. They design, develop and manufacture innovative motor driven solutions for the automotive market place and are looking to expand the engineering team to meet the demand!

Knowledge / Skills:
* A good degree or equivalent in a relevant subject (electronics engineering, computer science, mechatronics, systems engineering etc)
* A background in electronics design, embedded software engineering or similar, ideally gained within industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Medical devices or industrial control.
* Systems engineering experience (e.g. use of SysML or UML) - ability to capture and set functional requirement and break these down
* Familiarity with IEC 61508, ISO 26262 or similar safety standards or coding to MISRA C standards would be great
Beneficial Skills and Knowledge: (some of the following would be great)
Understanding of electrical machines / electric motors, DOORS, systems architecture, traceability analysis, and supporting verification and validation.

This role will involve the application of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) process using SysML, defining systems architectures, identifying functional requirements with particular emphasis on functional safety, performing traceability analysis between different levels of the system design, and undertaking design reviews.

This position will require travel to customers sites, and as a result will require the candidate to be able to travel periodically.
