We are looking for a PHP Developer to join our client's ambitious team in Glasgow. Our client is one of the largest internet retailers of fitness and gym equipment, and sports nutrition in the UK. Company was established in late 80's; operating from 10 locations, over 110 employees, annual turnover over £24 million.

Their aim is to help customers choose products that best meet their fitness goals whether customers require a single product for use at home, or a fully commercial fitness facility.

Job description:

- Being part of a successful ecommerce team
- Acting quickly to solve any development related problem as they arise
- Participating in the delivery of new websites using Agile delivery methods
- Developing on enterprise level CMSs

What is it like to work as part of their ecommerce team?

They are a laid back bunch but extremely dedicated to ensuring the success of their online business. Over the years the department has grown which is a large part due to its success and its increasing investment in digital. Our client has own in-house digital marketing team, developers and graphic designers. It's very similar to an agency environment in the sense that no two days are the same. They are constantly integrating new technologies into their website to help improve customer experience and ultimately increase revenue.


- Candidates will ideally have experience developing for ecommerce websites but equally important is a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Experience in PHP web development
- Experience of version control tools such as GIT
- Excellent problem solving skills and a passion for development

What would be a bonus:

- Experience developing for Magento & Symfony
- Experience of MySQL
- Knowledge of Grunt & Gulp
- Knowledge of Docker
- Familiarisation with Web Services (SOAP / REST)
- Ecommerce experience
