Head of Technical
I’m looking for a Head of Technical for one of the market leading PLC house builders in the South East. As opportunities like these don’t tend to come along too often, interest is expected to be high so move fast or risk missing out.
My client is one of the market leading PLC house builders in the South East area who have a strong reputation for designing and building a high quality product and offering the highest level of customer service. Many properties are sold off plan as soon as they’re released and it’s this reputation that has led them to the success we see today.
Due to this continued success, strong financial backing and a large land bank, the team is looking for a Head of Technical to oversee the Technical team and help drive the business forward. As Head of Technical, you will be responsible for overseeing up to 8 Technical Managers and Technical Co-Ordinators at any one time. You will be responsible for making sure these projects are running on time, within budget and that any problems which arise are overcome quickly.
Reporting in to the Technical Director of the business and on occasions the Managing Director, you will need to be a proven Senior Technical Manager looking to take a step up or already a Head of Technical. You will need to have experience of managing numerous residential projects as well as strong people management skills as this is predominantly what the role will be doing. You will have at least 10 years’ experience in the house building industry which you may have from working with developers, house builders or contractors and be able to hit the ground running.
The majority of projects which you will be involved in will be low rise, traditional housing however it isn’t unheard of to see low rise RC frame projects as well so it would be preferable that you have this experience as well.

Key Requirements:·Degree qualified in Architecture, Civil Engineering or other relevant related field.·At least 10 years’ experience working in the residential sector on medium to large projects in size earnt at a developer, contractor of house builder. (RC Frame experience is preferable).·A proven Senior Technical Manager or Head of Technical, capable of overseeing numerous sites at any one time.·Experienced in people management and of overseeing Technical Managers, Senior Co-Ordinators and more junior members of staff.·Able to keep calm, under pressure and make difficult decision quickly and confidently whilst reporting regularly back to the Technical Director and Managing Director.·A good problem solver who’s hands on and not afraid to get stuck in as and when needed.
