Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Nottingham

£38 to £50k + package

We are working with a well-established Engineering Company based in Nottingham . Due to company growth, they are now looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their busy and friendly team.

Main Purpose:

In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of structural design work from conception through to technical approval on projects. You will have demonstrable experience in steel, concrete, timber and masonry design and be fully conversant with British Standard and Eurocode codes of practice.

Key Accountabilities:

*

Delivery of scheme designs and input into Design Stage reports

*

Delivery of detailed design including full tender and construction packages

*

Management of engineers and technicians with the team, along with work load planning

*

Compilation of the Building Control reports for submission and approval

*

Liaison with statutory authorities, contractors and all other building design related disciplines

*

Attendance at client, design and site meetings. Site inspections and reporting.

*

Essential Candidate Requirements:

*

MEng in civil/structural engineering OR a first degree in a related discipline

*

Chartered (or near Chartered)/Associate/Incorporated Membership of the ICE or IStructE

*

Self-motivated team player with good people skills

*

Strong technical analysis, design and drawing skills

*

Experience in new build and refurbishment

*

Ability to work under own initiative while fully co-ordinating with line manager's requirements

*

Identify project and design risks and ability to produce supporting argument

*

Report to line manager on status of project performance (delivery, programme and commercial)

*

Good level of knowledge of BIM with respect to data output required by engineers.



Desirable skills:

*

Full driving licence

*

AutoCAD/Revit ability.
