IT Service Desk Team Leader - IT / Telecomms - Bournemouth

The purpose of this role will be to ensure that the team are providing the best possible service and representing the organisation to its desired level.

Duties Include;
  • Manage the running of the IT Service Desk, ensuring incidents are resolved effectively and within the agreed timeframe.
  • Lead member of the team providing the core first line IT Service Desk function, delivering outstanding customer service to the group's IT users including staff at all levels to agreed service levels.
  • Manage, train and develop the IT support team ensuring a high level of motivation and engagement.
  • Determine individual and team objectives in line with department objectives.
  • Management of resources for planned and unplanned leave to ensure no service impact to customers, including shift rotas and on-call.
  • Ensure the Service Desk records are kept up to date and log activity in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure work queues are managed effectively and that all incidents have an accurate and up to date status.

Person Specification;
  • Experience of managing an IT Service Desk in a medium to large organisation
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles
  • Highly motivated displaying initiative and determination in all areas
  • Committed to providing a high quality service to all internal and external customers and stakeholders
  • A strong technical knowledge and a passion IT

Technologies Required;
  • Microsoft Windows operating systems (desktop and server 2003 - 2012)
  • Microsoft Office suite (up to and including 2016)
  • Office 365 (licensing, setup, migration, administration)
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Router and Firewalls
  • Microsoft Exchange (building, installing, upgrading and migrating)
  • Microsoft SQL Server (building, installing, upgrading, migrating and reporting)
  • Networking - WAN, LAN, security, SSL, IP routing, switching
  • Android / iOS configuration and support
