Business Development Manager

£40,000 - £50,000 plus additional bonus of £10k-£20k OTE
An exciting chance to join an existing business development team within a market leading company who provide cutting edge services within the Space, Government and Defence sectors.

The Role…
You will be responsible for account management and developing new leads and converting them into new profitable business. This is a hands-on role and as such you will be required to work at all levels of the sales process to ensure sales objectives are met. Due to the nature of this work you will be required to undergo an SC Government Security Clearance.

Key Responsibilities…
  • To identify and develop new contacts and create and maintain relationships with key individuals in organisations in your target market.
  • Working creatively with potential prospects and colleagues to identify propositions that will meet prospects’ needs.
  • Lead on bids and contract negotiations as required.
  • Ensure smooth, ongoing management and support to client requirements as required.
  • In conjunction with other members of the team, contribute to the development of sales strategy and plans to assist in annual business forecasts.

Essential Skills…
  • Proven track record of professional software services sales from first contact through to closure.
  • Understanding and background in Software as a Service (SaaS).
  • An excellent technical understanding of software development and systems integration with the ability to build up an in-depth knowledge of company technical capabilities, operations, procedures and customer base.
  • Previously sold into the Defence market and its supply chain.
  • Ability to work on own initiative whilst playing an active role as a member of the business team.

  • Commercial awareness and flair to spot opportunities quickly and identify potential risks.
  • Commitment to achieving targets.
  • Good personal organisation and focus.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce and deliver well-structured presentations and proposals.

The Package…
