Office 365 Specialist (GW4 Portal)

Salary Range: £41,709 - £46,925 per annum

The GW4 is an alliance of the four leading research-intensive Universities in the South West of England and Wales: Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter. The GW4 have established a collaboration environment within SharePoint and Office 365, to manage information regarding the GW4 and improve research collaboration between the universities. This is an important opportunity to improve communications & collaboration amongst GW4 colleagues using digital tools.

The successful role holder will consult with stakeholders to understand the GW4’s collaboration needs and act as service manager for the collaboration tool. They will have a good general understanding of multiple components within the GW4 suite. They will support and develop the collaboration environment, to provide suitable SharePoint document management, Exchange email/calendar, and other Office 365 tools for GW4 staff and for GW4 collaborating communities across the four universities.

The role holder will undertake configuration of the new services, manage the relationship with third party IT providers, and carry out the technical integration of the collaboration environment with services hosted within the four universities, if this is required. The role holder may also support other externally-facing GW4 web projects as required.

The role holder will be co-located with other Office 365 specialists within the University of Bristol’s IT Services, but their priorities will be directed according to the needs of the GW4 across all four universities, and there will be some opportunity for travel between the four sites.
