The Role

As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading, managing and developing mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure the successful delivery or multi-disciplined projects and engineering solutions. You will work closely with several engineering teams across science and physics to successfully deliver on projects while continuously supporting research, development and advancements in product capabilities.
This will be inclusive of the following tasks:
  • Leading, manage and developing mechanical and electrical project engineers, design engineers and scientific specialists.
  • Implementing management processes to continuously develop engineering quality and capabilities.
  • Represent the company at international level at scientific conferences and exhibitions, establishing and building relationships with industry specialists.
  • Co-ordinate engineering with all disciplines including scientific, physics and technical divisions to ensure the optimal delivery of operations and projects.
  • Mentor and develop the next generation of engineers, to contribute to the future success of the business.
The Person

The successful candidate will have a proven track-record of working within a scientific and high-technology environment and ensured the successful delivery of multi-disciplined mechatronic based systems and projects. Alongside excellent managerial qualities, you will also have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines with proficiency in design and analysis.
  • Minimum of Degree qualified in Engineering, Science or Physics.
  • Knowledge of Mechatronic systems, with an understanding of precision motion control, ultra-high vacuum or cryogenics being preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with the willingness and confidence to represent the company internationally at scientific conferences.
  • Background in leading multi-disciplined engineering teams to successful delivery of highly technical projects and solutions.
