Data Scientist: We are seeking an experience Data Scientist to be at the heart of our business transformation utilising data to move us from an Asset orientated model to a client/ consumer audience based model leveraging new technology in the programmatics/ smart marketing stack. The Data Scientist will lead the discovery, design, and delivery of data-driven changes. This will include identifying improvements to operations, improving how we manage/ utilise our inventory, creating data-driven products, planning our asset and product portfolio.

As an experienced and accomplished Data Scientist you will possess the following experience:

  • Experience working in the fields of Data Science, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistical Analysis, Operational Research and other broadly related fields
  • Strong hands-on experience of designing and implementing data-driven solutions of a commercial nature
  • Strong Data Modelling, Data Governance and Data Architecture experience
  • Strong programming skills, including Hadoop MapReduce or other big data frameworks, Java, Python, Scala, statistical modelling (e.g. SAS or R), SQL, data mining techniques, machine learning techniques, data visualisation, and related.
  • Experience of working with open source and disruptive technologies
  • Degree educated in computer science, information systems or a related area of study, or equivalent project-related or product development experience
  • Leadership experience of both technical and non-technical teams
  • Strategic and commercial planning and design as well as tactical hands-on work in the field of data science.
  • As an experience Data Scientist you’re duties will include:

  • Hands-on and a lot of data crunching and modelling.
  • Data Analysis but also reviewing the governance, architecture of the data.
  • How data modelled and where/ how they are getting it fed to them.
  • Be the ‘acorn of practise’ – set up the way of working as it hasn’t been enabled
  • Drive cultural change across the business
  • Foster a mature, governed and managed, innovative, data-driven operating model
  • Drive the delivery of new data-fuelled capabilities
  • Guide and directly engineer data-oriented products
  • Inform operational decision making
  • KPIs for this role include: adoption of data-focused techniques, product maturity, Data maturity, Insight and project delivery and peer education
  • This role is ideal for a Data Scientist keen to be at the fundamental transformation of how a business operates. Any experience of SPSS Statistics would be a major plus. As well as an excellent salary this role offers a good benefits package as well.
