Qualified ACA / ACCA Audit Senior

Our clients are looking for a qualified ACA / ACCA Audit Senior to join their team, in a role with progression and career development potential. Managing a portfolio of varied clients from owner managed business to charities.

The person

You will be responsible for leading the audit assignments and delivering to client deadlines. Alongside this you will be responsible for the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, the preparation and submission of Corporation tax returns and will liaise with clients to provide ad hoc advice and assistance as required.

Experience required

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Possess a strong accounting knowledge and be technically up-to-date with the latest accounting developments such as FRS102
  • Have experience in the preparation of audit files from planning through to completion stage using audit programmes such as PCAS
  • Have exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
  • Be a good communicator with good spoken and written English and a professional manner
  • Possess good organisational skills, being able to manage several assignments at any one time and ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Be able to use their own initiative and work under pressure
  • Be proficient IT users and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft office programmes such as Excel and Outlook, and ideally also have knowledge of specific accounting software programmes such as Sage and QuickBooks
  • Work to agreed fee budgets and timelines
  • Work such overtime as may reasonably be required

The role

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Planning and performing the audit assignments for a wide range of businesses and charities, including coordinating small audit teams to ensure fieldwork is completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Preparation of annual accounts assignments to a high standard of accuracy and the provision of detailed analysis and commentary
  • Preparation and submission of corporation tax returns
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, prioritising work according to client deadlines and communicating with clients to provide additional business support and assistance all year round
  • Supervision and training of junior staff members

The salary

£35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience, however will be highly competitive.
