My client, an international, market-leader, insurance company based in Maidenhead is looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious candidate to join their team as a Graduate Trainee Underwriter.

The role will based in the regional office you will be primarily responsible for responding to new business and mid-term enquires from brokers by issuing outbound quotations within agreed service standards. To be successful you will need to be service focussed, have a high attention to detail, be able to build rapport with brokers and demonstrate an understanding of our sales and underwriting strategies.

Key Responsibilities
*Interpret information provided by brokers to ensure we underwrite accurately across the portfolio, including completing and chasing for missing underwriting information and educating brokers to improve the standard of their submissions.
*Respond to enquiries on the quotes you have underwritten, manage new business and mid- term orders.
*Precise entry of underwriting information to drive accurate analysis of the underwriting portfolio.
*Ensure technical and complex referrals are sent to the Portfolio and Development Underwriting teams within the expected timeframe.
*Follow the portfolio underwriting segmentation strategy, ensuring underwriters receive the appropriate risks for their role

*Previous experience in a similar role (underwriting, customer service) within the insurance sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
*An excellent communicator (telephone and email) with first class interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to people.
*Clear focus on customer service i.e. a desire to service each broker to the best of your ability whilst dealing with a high daily volume of new business submissions.
*High attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality, accurate work.
*Ability to organise, prioritise and plan work to meet deadlines.
*Consistently demonstrate behaviour conducive to achieving both personal and team objectives, in line with the core values.
*Good team player with positive and flexible approach to work.
*CII qualification or willingness to study towards this.
*The desire to further your career by working towards a Development or Portfolio Underwriter role after completing a minimum of 18 to 24 months in the role
