Business Development Account Manager

Your role will be to prospect and "break down doors", pitch to new/existing accounts and win new business. There is no shortage of opportunity and our client will work with you to develop a truly meaningful career path. It's up to you to use your consultative and relationship building skills to "get under the hood" of an organisation and find out what is preventing them from reaching their greatest ambitions. By seeking out challenges and demonstrating your specific industry knowledge and insights, you are positioning yourself not as a "seller" but a valued "trusted advisor".
Your role is to then help solve those challenges with other members of the team and when you have reached a solution that will address their challenge, you package it up into a beautiful proposal and present it back to the client. Usually the solution has so much bespoke, considered thought and value that it makes it very easy for a client to say "Yes".
It's worth noting that you have at your disposal a range of brilliant, unique tools to use as an entry point into an organisation. For example, our client can offer a free, bespoke, online survey and report to find out what needs clients might have. They offer free webinars, where they bring domain experts together with clients seeking answers, and lots of other free or low cost ways for clients to start working with you.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Be consultative, engaging, caring and helpful with clients at all times.
- Have outstanding social selling skills and networks. For instance a LinkedIn network of 500+ connections.
- Professional communication skills including speaking, networking, presenting and writing.
- Minimum 2 years’ sales experience.
- A high impact presence around the office, willing to help other team members and maintain the fantastic team culture!
- A strong interest in learning and personal development.
- Strong proficiency with MS Word & PowerPoint.
- 3rd level degree or diploma.
Basic salary is negotiable depending on experience (circa £25,000 - £40,000) plus uncapped commission and other incentives.
