Our Medicine for the Elderly wards are looking for staff to join our team of nurses who can deliver high quality care. The department provides a demanding and challenging environment in which to work with a key focus on multidisciplinary working. On our wards we have a robust electronic record documentation system.

Duties for this post will include assessing, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care and supporting colleagues in providing effective care. As part of the Acute and Specialist Medicine Directorate, the Elderly Medicine Wards have a close working relationship with all our acute and rehabilitation services. Our elderly services include working with the new rapid assessment medical unit AMU), ambulatory emergency care (outpatient medical care), the acute care of the elderly (ACE) frailty unit and ACE fast track clinic services, Older Peoples Rapid Access Clinic (OPRAC) as well as Older Person’s Assessment and Liaison Service( OPAL).
We are looking for RGN level 1 nurses with post registration experience at Band 5 (newly qualified staff with an interest in Elderly Care Medicine will also be considered).
Working with the multi-disciplinary team, you will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to motivate and manage, adapting to rapidly changing situations. You must be computer literate.
