September 2017 start - Permanent (Full time)

The main aspects of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • To lead and inspire a year group of 100 students
  • To take care of the pastoral and academic needs of students in the year group, whilst challenging and pushing them to develop and succeed
  • To monitor and analyse academic and pastoral targets
  • Address student attendance and develop appropriate interventions where necessary
  • To develop an understanding of students as individuals in order to maximise their potential
  • Liaise with SLT on issues critical to the progress and development of students
  • To facilitate the school values into the day-to-day life of the year group
  • To recognise and celebrate achievement where appropriate
  • Take a lead for your year group to help support staff in maintaining the highest standards of behaviour and discipline
  • To ensure clear lines of communication are developed and maintained between students parents
  • To ensure that parents are fully involved and actively engaged in the life of the school and feel informed about the progress of their child
  • To help embed, develop and deliver a lifelong learning curriculum which enables students to develop the skills needed for a successful life outside of education


All Year leaders also have a teaching cohort as part of their timetable. As such, the school are looking to appoint well qualified and experienced teachers that can offer any relevant subject on the National Curriculum. The ideal candidate will be passionate about their own discipline and enthusiastic about collaborating with colleagues across subjects to produce a truly integrated curriculum. You will be an excellent teaching practitioner with experience across KS3 and KS4 resulting in high academic standards.
