The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) invests in world-class bioscience research and training on behalf of the UK public. Our aim is to further scientific knowledge, to promote economic growth, wealth and job creation and to improve quality of life in the UK and beyond.

About the Role
BBSRC’s Communications and Engagement Team (CET) works to secure and maintain the best possible environment for the UK bioscience community to undertake research and to realise the potential of bioscience.
You will work across projects to deliver communications employing media, public affairs, digital communications, events, stakeholder management, public engagement etc. The focus of this role is to lead the development of BBSRC’s digital communications channels, including the BBSRC corporate website working closely with other colleagues. You will ensure effective evaluation of all digital communications channels and activities and make suggestions for improvement. You will also provide advice to colleagues on the most effective use of digital communications channels. You will contribute to digital and web manager groups and activities and act as BBSRC’s interface with the web delivery work stream of the ongoing Change Programme.

You will be educated to Degree level or have equivalent experience working in a digital communications role. You also have demonstrable experience managing large, complex websites and social media platforms in a corporate environment. With excellent relationship building skills, you have the ability to work with internal and external contacts at all levels. You must have an understanding of HTML and CSS, experience of working with CMS’s and the ability to manage your own workload.
Demonstrable experience of tailoring digital content for various audiences and experience of communications evaluation approaches is desirable.
