Senior Software Engineer
SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - FAREHAM - PERMANENT - UP TO £55K
My Client is a market leading manufacturer of Avionic products for both military and civil applications. Due to a number of large project wins they are looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to the team based on their Fareham site.
The Software Engineering team has been developing and deploying a standard set of tools, processes and templates in order to deliver high-integrity safety-critical software to DO-178B/C guidelines in a timely and cost effective manner.
Reporting to the Manager, Group Software Engineering, the Senior Software Engineer provides extensive expertise in the development of a range of safety-critical software, interfacing with customers and suppliers in order to lead software design, development, testing, integration and verification activities.
Job core responsibilities
-Interfaces with internal and external customers to develop and implement software engineering solutions across the whole development lifecycle in accordance with customer requirements, legislation, human factors and business needs
-Control of own work and leadership of junior developers to meet technical, quality, cost and schedule requirements in the development of a range of safety-critical software
-Generate software requirements specification from system requirements
-Design (using UML) and model based development (using SCADE)
-Author design documents with traceability adhering to DO-178B/C guidelines
-Author code meeting the stringent requirements of DO-178B/C guidelines
-Develop processor and board support packages to well-defined interfaces
-Unit testing and high-level requirements-based testing
-Identify continuous improvement opportunities, including standardisation of tools and processes
-Assist with the professional development of junior developers
-Travel, on occasion, to customers, suppliers and other Group Software Engineering offices
-Ideally Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related field
-Mandatory Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related field
-Experience in the development and testing of embedded software systems
-Competent practitioner of software development to DO-178B/C guidelines
-Demonstrated experience with embedded C
-Demonstrated experience with model based development
-Strong working knowledge of debuggers, emulations and integrated development environments
-Strong hardware-in-the-loop debugging experience
