EVO Group are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, flexible and pro-active Electro Mechanical Shift Engineer within our Lutterworth site to maintain and control all site electrical and mechanical equipment to the highest possible standards of efficiency and safety, ensuring the smooth operation of the Arrow warehouse. Our Engineers work on a rotating shift pattern (06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 22:00, 17:00 - 01:00) plus every 4th Saturday.

The responsibilities include but are not limited:

  • To maintain all electrical and mechanical equipment to the highest standards of efficiency and safety.

  • To ensure time lost due to breakdown is minimised through a rapid response and the application of all appropriate methods and materials available.

  • To assist in the installation and operation of a Planned Preventative Maintenance system for all equipment on site.

  • To ensure that all equipment is regularly maintained and tested for legal, Health and Safety, and insurance purposes.

  • To maintain an adequate and organised store of spare parts, always checking prices and alternative sources of supply.

  • To monitor the performance of suppliers and contractors to ensure that they meet with the high standards of service and performance demanded by the business.

  • To work closely with the Security Department to ensure that the building is adequately protected and secure at all times.

  • To control and employ all available resources to achieve the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the site.

  • To ensure that fire equipment and alarms are tested and maintained in accordance with fire regulations and insurance requirements.

  • To ensure the effective communication between shifts so that all members of the Technical Department are fully aware of current operational issues.

  • To assist in the training and development of other Engineers and employees as required.

  • Any other duties as and when required by management.

We are looking for an individual who has a recognised Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship or ONC/City & Guilds or equivalent qualification. Previous experience in electrical or mechanical discipline is key and knowledge of PLC’s, conveyor systems, automatic storage and pneumatic system would be an advantage. Good numerical ability, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure and make logical decisions are also important.
