Due to continual expansion I am recruiting for a large highly reputable organisation for a Waking Night Learning Disability Nurse based in Gloucester working with adults with profound Learning and Physical Disabilities . The company ethos includes supporting clients with their individual needs and to realise their maximum potential along with supporting all staff with progression and first class training programs.

This is a Full Time, permanent Waking Night Learning Disability Nurse vacancy working 37 hours per week paying £14.94 per hour

Responsibilities of Waking Night Learning Disability Nurse:

• To work in an open and co-operative manner with clients and their families, fostering their independence and acknowledging and promoting their involvement in the planning of their care
• To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, liaising with the College Medical officer/General Practitioner ensuring appropriate, effective and timely health management for all learners
• To work in a collaborative and co-operative manner with Allied Health professionals and other external agencies involved in providing care
• To ensure that all documentation and individual learner records are accurate and are presented and maintained in a manner consistent with College & Professional quality standards
• To ensure that all medication is administered safely and correctly and all related documentation is completed in accordance with the College policy and current legislation
• To operate a Treatment Room with regular opening times
• To maintain adequate drug/equipment stock levels to ensure high standards of care and well being
• To participate in the active promotion of client independence incorporating health promotion and education when appropriate
• To ensure that the health aspects of the client assessment processes are undertaken
• To act as an advocate ensuring that the well being and interests of the client are safeguarded, ensuring all policies and procedures relating to safeguarding are adhered to
• To undertake training as required by the College and to meet CQC requirements
• To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Nurse Manager or Director of Support Services

Person Specification for Waking Night Learning Disability Nurse:

• Qualified practitioner registered with the NMC
• 2 years post registration experience is desirable but not essential
• Client caseload management experience
• Knowledge of and involvement in clinical audit
• Ability to prioritise, managing complex, diverse and competing client requirement
• IT literate, able to use Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Due to the location of the business you must have a full driving licence
