Your new role
This is a non-contentious construction legal position, as part of a well-established internal legal function, of the organisation's Property business. You will negotiate, draft and review a host of agreements, including supplier, subcontractor, joint venture, bidding, warranty and other construction contracts. You will liaise with clients to agree variations and provide support throughout the contracts cycle. You will advise on acquisitions, disposals and wider governance issues, using your commercial acumen, knowledge of the Construction Act and familiarity with Public Procurement rules. Additionally, you will build relationships with numerous relevant internal business units, becoming one of the primary points of contact for the business.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a 3+ non-contentious focussed lawyer, with a strong commercial approach and exposure in the construction sector. You will come from either a reputable law firm or relevant in-house environment, and be adept at advising a wider business on contracts issues in the construction industry. You will have experience supporting commercial and business teams with contracts negotiation and ideally have exposure to both private and public sector projects. You will come with a team mentality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate through an organisation with over 4,000 people in the UK.
