Associate - Civil
Associate Civil Engineer for the largest property and Infrastructure consultancy in the UK.
Your new company
Predominantly a finance company this is now the UK's largest Property and Infrastructure consultancy in the UK. They are on some of the largest frameworks within the highways and transport industry and have some major projects on their books in the short and long term. They are currently looking for an Associate to lead their Civils team and help to drive this forward.
Your new role
To manage the engineering resources available to undertake all aspects of project delivery from feasibility through concept design, to detailed design through to construction and on to completion. To determine and implement programmes of work, prepare and manage project fee proposals against targets, prepare and manage project cost plans, to ensure projects are undertaken and specified to meet the requirements of quality, health and safety, environmental standards, to time and to both national and corporate standards, to manage a team of engineers and technicians to deliver a variety of projects over a range of complexities, to lead in the programming and project management of the design and construction of a range of civil engineering and highway related projects, to lead in the procurement of construction works projects whilst conforming to Client and internal procurement rules and processes, to manage project budgets and cost plans, internal fees and finance monitoring and to be responsible for Principal Engineers, Engineers, Assistant Engineers, Technicians, Clerk of Works, temporary and seconded staff within the teams.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (CEng MICE) or other related profession accredited by the Engineering Council or be an Incorporated Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (IEng MICE) or other related profession accredited by the Engineering Council. You will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to manage a team of engineers and technicians in the delivery of projects, you will have experience in the use of design software (e.g. MX, Civils 3D, Revit), able to provide technical leadership and support the development of more junior engineers, an extensive working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, British and European Standards, and Codes of Practice and preparation of schemes for invitation to tender (ITT) using the NEC3 Form of Contract, the Specification for Highway Works and the Standard Method of Measurement.
