Acorn Executive is searching on behalf of a vibrant, privately owned business which is experiencing rapid growth and hence recruiting for suitably experienced senior managers to join their team.

The Company:

Our client provides construction, engineering and asset management solutions to the energy sector. The company provide a service to the distribution network operators and tier one contractors, and has gained an excellent reputation for compliance, innovation and project delivery.

The Role:

You will be the driving force behind the delivery team, delivering OHL projects safety from planning stages through to completion. This involves acting as a point of contact for assigned projects and communicates effectively with both internal stakeholders and to external clients. You will also identify opportunities for improving project timelines and costs, and share best practices across the business.

Summarised duties include:

* Site organisation and planning
* Setting out of foundations and wood poles
* Site liaison
* Economic delivery of the construction works to programme
* Early warning of any delays or required alterations to the programme
* Ensure critical path (normally outage dependant works) on project programme is managed, to avoid delays.
* Interface with client clerk / SAP of works
* Quality control of installation
* Provide information to PM on progress for monthly reports
* Provide guidance to stores operative
* Management of sub-contractors (where applicable)
* Visual inspections and supervision of contract personnel
* Ensure compliance with all statutory and company procedures across all the functions.
* Identify and manage the required outcome of potential risks and opportunities
* Understands client specification through effective client relationships
* Contracts managed within budgetary targets
* Understands impact of cost resulting from decisions made.
* Sets and reviews daily site objectives and takes appropriate action when necessary relating to Productivity and S.H.E.Q.
* Manages resources and documentation to meet daily work targets.
* Understands the wider impact of daily decisions.
* Proactively seek to improve processes in order to maximise added value.
* The ability to be flexible in meeting client and supplier changes to specification

Knowledge / qualifications / experience required:

* HND in an engineering discipline or similar technical qualification preferred
* Setting out experience in OHL
* Ability to read engineering drawings
* Ability to set out with GPS and total station
* Working knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation, and CDM Regulations
* Working knowledge of MSOffice and Primavera
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal
* Understands and is passionate about continuous improvement
